Java Plugins configuration for BSDD Java Plugins is a free software. It runs on Windows, Linux, SGI and etc.

For Windows Machines:

To install Java Software for windows machine download jre-1_6_0_01-windows-i586.exe file, then install it as per the instruction given while executing the .exe file.

Download Java Software for linux Click here.
Install Sun SDK (1.4): See Java SDK download/install
(J2RE: JAVA 2 Runtime Environment RPMs for Mozilla)
( Download appropriate file depends upon the display depth (8BIT, 16BIT, 32BIT) of your machine. )


Steps to configure Java Plugins in your Mozilla browsers

Mozilla Configuration:
Java VM support:
Configure Java Plugins for Java - (1.5)
Java 1.5: ln -s /opt/jdk1.5.0_07/jre/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/
Configure Java Plugins for Java - (1.4)
Java 1.4: ln -s /usr/java/j2sdk1.4.1_02/jre/plugin/i386/ns610/libjavaplugin_oji.so /usr/lib/mozilla-1.0.2/plugins/

Restart the browser to pick-up the new plug-ins. Verify with the URL "about:plugins".
